A Record of Accomplishment

UCSF Gastroenterology, one of the world's premier programs, has as its goal to cure, prevent or reduce the burden of gastrointestinal illness. Its vision is excellence in clinical care, research and training. While Federal research support is important, donations from patients, family and friends play a vital role in stimulating innovation, enhancing patient care, and sustaining the teaching and training mission.

Donating On-Line

You may donate online via UCSF's secure server at MakeAGift. Please use the "Other" field to indicate that your donation is for the Division of Gastroenterology. You may also designate a specific fund. For example: "Division of Gastroenterology Liver Research Fund". In general, on-line donations are used for current support.

Creating an Endowment

Endowments underwrite a specific activity and perpetuate the name of the donor. The donor designates the purpose of the endowment, which can range from research support to a faculty chair. For details, see the UCSF Foundation web site. The gift may be in the form of cash, securities, real property, or other assets. Tax-advantaged planned gifts such as pooled income funds, annuities, charitable remainder trusts and gifts under wills also are welcome. The UCSF Office of Development is available to help donors and their advisors determine the most appropriate vehicle for giving. The Development Office may be contacted by telephone at 415-476-9806.
